If you're looking for a rental property in Central FL, we're glad you're here to begin the process. Chances are you've been looking at Zillow and Craigslist, which is a great start, but we'd also be happy to set you up with a more detailed search in the Multiple Listing Service (MLS). The MLS will show results listed by other Realtors that may not be available elsewhere.
Most Realtors list rental properties in the MLS when they are available immediately or within the next 1-2 months. That being said, it's never too early to begin the search process so that you understand what you're looking for and have time to successfully apply. We recommend contacting our team 2-4 months before your current lease expires. The rental market in Central Florida can be very competitive due to a shortage of reasonably priced rental options and we want to give ourselves plenty of time to find something that meets your needs!
A member of our team is more than happy to set you (and your roommates if applicable!) up in a personalized MLS search to view properties that meet your unique criteria. If you see something you're interested in, we're happy to set up a showing and take you for a tour of that property. If you find something you love outside of the MLS (a "by owner" rental, etc.) we will not have the same leverage to show the property, but would be happy to try and reach out to the listing agent/owner on your behalf.
When deciding on your current rental budget, it may be worth a conversation with our team about the pros and cons of renting vs. buying your home. Oftentimes, renters don't realize that they could be saving money by buying as opposed to renting; your mortgage may end up being lower than your monthly lease payment! We would be more than happy to help get you connected to a lender who can answer all of your financial questions about the home buying process if you have any interest.
